For healthy and sustainable weight loss, you may need a combination of increased physical activity and calorie restriction. When substantial weight loss is necessary to reduce the risk of serious illness or death, significant lifestyle changes must be embraced. This includes some stress management techniques like yoga, tai chi, meditation, deep breathing exercises, and guided imagery.
Exercise is essential when it comes to weight loss. As with any activity, you should begin slowly and work your way up to more challenging fitness routines. Experts typically recommend low impact cardio exercises like walking or swimming. In addition to aerobic exercises, try to incorporate strength training exercises into your workout routine.
Having an elevated BMI increases your risk of illness and disease. Reducing your weight through diet and exercise decreases your risk of disease. In addition to this, reducing your overall weight increases your energy levels. As your energy levels increase, you will be able to perform more exercise, which will further improve your weight loss efforts, and as you begin to lose weight, you will feel better about yourself and your self-esteem will begin to improve

Communication with my Physician or Healhcare provider
Our friendly staff and practitioners are always willing to help. You have direct secure access to the physician or other healthcare practitioners via the patient portal. Every attempt is made to respond to your secure messages within 24-48 business hours.
Secure messaging is ideal for follow up questions, updates, and support. Any new concerns are best addressed by scheduling a short phone or virtual consult.
Medicare Reimbursement
Our physicians have opted out of Medicare. If you are a Medicare beneficiary, you will not be entitled to any reimbursement from Medicare. All costs for services including prescriptions and laboratory tests ordered will be your sole responsibility and will not be covered by Medicare.
Your First Visit
For your initial visit with your integrative practitioner, plan on spending 1 to 2 hours. About 45-90 minutes of this time will be devoted to a thorough consultation. The other time will be used for checking in and out and any lab tests that may be ordered.During the consultation, your practitioner will review all of your medical records and discuss any previous diagnoses, treatments and medications you currently take. All of the information on the intake forms will be discussed in great detail and diagnostic testing may be ordered to help identify the root cause of your condition. Then, the practitioner will develop an individualized treatment plan based on the findings using a functional medicine approach. A significant portion of your visit will consist of patient education. Your practitioner will address and answer all of your health questions.
Bring Your Medical Records to the First Visit
Pertinent previous records are helpful in preventing unnecessary testing and for a more productive medical visit. You may either –
Scan and upload all your records through our secure patient portal
Fax them to our office prior to your first visit
Mail or drop copies of your records off to our center prior to your first visit. Please call us if you need any help with this. There may be an associated admin fee if we need to scan your records for you (above 5 pages).
Visit Fees
The visit fee covers the medical consultation including an in-depth review of intake forms and past records.
Any recommended supplements and/or specialized tests ordered are additional fees. Many (but not all) of these tests are covered by insurance. These tests include saliva hormone tests, stool tests for gut function, nutritional tests, food allergy/intolerance tests, based on individual need.
